Boise is part of the Treasure Valley and is located in the county of Ada.  The climate is mild with an average temperature of 51°F, rainfall of about 12 inches and snowfall of 20 inches.

The city's elevation is 2,842 feet.  Its location is at the base of a mountainous range which offers great skiing just minutes from downtown.  It's snuggled up against the Boise River which flows through the middle of the city.  To the south is a semi-arid desert which the Snake River flows through on its way to the Columbia.

All of this offers great opportunities for hiking, camping, skiing (water and snow), fishing and of course there is abundant game in the hills and mountains for hunting.
